The Core Group for Disaster Management consists of staff and students of the Faculty of Medicine, Colombo. Inspired by the tragedy of the tsunami, this group aims to equip the healthcare workers and as well as the community with necessary skills and knowledge to better deal with future disasters,

 

Capacity building is the main theme of the group, which will be implemented through Workshops, Seminars and Field activities, Rapid deployment scheme for relief teams is also being formulated.

 

With Local Government and International collaboration, we hope to achieve loss reduction and mitigation.
